Okay, sorry it's been a month or five since I last posted. I was thinking about why I haven't posted....I believe I said something about not having time or something along those lines. Whatever the reason was, I realized that in actuality I have just been a giant lazy ass pretending like I don't have 9 minutes every couple of days to type a couple of lines on the computer that sits on my desk right in front of my face for 8 hours a day. So, in honor of my coming out of lazy ass mode, here we go.....
Bench
cardio push ups
flat BP bar 75 x 5 95 x 5 2 brd. (shirted) 135 x 3 x 2 sets 1 brd. 145 x 3 155 x 3 165 x 3
Flat DB presses 30 x 10 35 x 10 x 2 sets 40 x 10
seated military press bar x 10 55 x 10 x 2 sets then 55 for approximately 9 and one fourth of a rep. --->awesome, I believe that my 1/4 of a rep will make the difference come meet time. I'm really excited about it.
abs triceps

12 Dec--DL
Approximately five months ago, Greg started teaching me how to pull sumo. There was a big difference in how much weight I could pull (not in a good way). I was so weak in all my little sumo-muscles. I've become a little stronger and am almost even with my conventional style now. I've come to prefer pulling sumo. It only took a few temper tantrums, some pouting and Greg yelling and cursing a few times before I stopped whining about how I would never learn and just did it.
reverse bands (greens) 135 x 5 x 2 sets 185 x 5 185 x 1 for better speed 225 x 2 225 x 1 275 x 1 x 2 sets 300 x 1
reverse hypers 90 x 10 115 x 10 135 x 10 x 2 sets
chest supported rows abs.

13 Dec--upper stuff
Greg and I went to the local commercial gym after work to get in a quickie (workout, get your minds out of the gutter). It's a good thing our workout didn't require a curl bar or a mirror. There must have been a curl-a-thon scheduled for later on that night. Every single person in that place was curling away, probably to warm up for the big event later on. So, Greg and I went ahead with our workout and just tried to stay clear of all the competing ath-a-letes so we wouldn't break their concentration---or get knocked out by a stray flying curl bar. Those professional curlers can get pretty crazy.
decline bench bar x 10 x 2 75 x 10 95 x 8 x 3 sets with different grips
db shoulder press 20 x 10 x 2 sets 25 x 10 x 2 sets
rack lock-outs 95 x 5 x 2 sets 135 x 5 x 2 sets
reverse pec deck for 4 sets

16 Dec 07
Greg and I went back to the local gym for some upper body stuff. I had a moment or two of frustration--not the kind that makes you mad and motivates you to do better next time, but the kind that makes you pout and sit in the corner pondering why you suck so much at something you do all the time. So, Greg came over to my little corner and helped me pick my lower lip up off of my lap. He told me that I had to quit pouting, get mad and just do it. His motivational speech and the hard slap on my ass put me back in the game and the rest of my workout was decent. Gosh I love that man.
abs
triceps (part 1 of frustration)
face pulls--4 sets
seated shoulder press machine--3 sets
flat BP with mini bands bar x 3 ---part 2 of frustration pouting during Greg's set slap on ass x 1 bar x 1 x 3 sets (pinky) bar x 2 x 3 sets (middle) bar x 3 x 3 sets (comp)
My speed improved with each set. I felt like I have never really moved the bar that well with good form. There wasn't much (or any) weight on the bar, but I still felt good about the work.
straight weight 95 x 7
At this point the gym was closing. There was actually a small crowd of employees standing over by the smoothie bar scowling at us. We went on home, ate ribeyes and then I got to smack Greg's ass a little!!! ;D
