Thanks everyone! It always feels great to get a PR---more to come!!
My bench workout comes next. I've had a lot of trouble with my bench, but it is starting to come together some. I've had focus, form, shirt, and strength issues. Greg has really stuck with me, pushing me harder, constantly reminding me that I CAN do this. And I will, no matter how long it takes!!

Normally, squat workouts are my favorite. I had what started off as an extremely frustrating squat workout this past Sunday. I was wearing my squat suit without my briefs. I struggled with 225 over and over again. I've lifted 245 with my briefs, so my inability to get 225 for 2 was making me really mad. The fact that the barn temperature was about one million degrees didn't help my mood. As it turns out, my squat suit is too big and needs to be taken in, and I need to stop being such a homo. I put my briefs on, finished my workout and put the whole thing behind me. Here goes: warm up suit, no briefs 135x2x5 185x5 225x1 (missed 2nd) 225x1 (missed 2nd) 225x1 (2nd SQUASHED me) 185x2 put on my briefs 225x2 255x1 (PR) 275x0 (tried knee wraps for the first time and now understand why everyone is so quick to take them off after the lift!! )

Sharon, I hate squatting, I always have but I have decided that they are something I really need to be doing! I think a sumo style squat is going to be the best for me for now, when I do front squats I keep expecting to have to pick my ass up off the floor, no balnce I guess. Anyway my question is, how much weight and how many reps did you start out doing? Thanks Stacey

Stacey,
I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I started training for the squat in March. The purpose of my very first squat workout was to see what I could lift, how my form was, and where my weakness were. I began with just the bar, went to 95, then 115, 135,165, and missed 185. I went four reps on each. Since then, I still warm up with the bar, and make 50lb jumps for each set. I will do anywhere from 3 to 5 reps on each weight. I usually squat with a 14" box. On my speed workouts, I use bands and do eight sets of 2 or 3. The bands will really help you with balance. Also, if you're not already doing them, start doing good mornings. They're not fun, but incredibly useful. I hope this helps. Good luck!
Sharon

Thanks Sharon. I have been doing good mornings sometimes...I actually like them!! I know thats probably odd but for some strange reason I do. I know squats are so good for me to do, it is just so hard to motivate myself to do them....
