Lord yes! We went to 12 hour shifts though, and that makes it easier--more days off! I'm getting pretty excited about the meet. I think it's gonna be a good one for Team Torture! I am really looking forward to seeing everyone lift--especially Sonja. I saw her goals that she posted in the barn--good ones! I guess I'll see you guys in the morning for the LAST BIG SQUAT!!!

Thanks everyone for all the support and feedback you've given since I started posting. I'm ready for this weekend! I'll go in and lift my best, set some full power meet numbers for myself, and have a great time! Hope to see each of you there!

I had an awesome time at the meet yesterday!! I was in the 148 weight class, which I don't think I've ever mentioned. I established some decent meet numbers for myself that will now be my goal to beat next time!
I opened up on the squat with 275. I was so nervous/excited/scared that my whole body was shaking. I could hardly walk up to the monolift I was shaking so badly! I got 275 and put that first lift behind me. I was able to calm down quite a bit after that. On my second attempt I got 290 and everything went down and back up pretty smoothly. I tried 315 on my third attempt and feel confident that I would have got it had I set up correctly. I didn't come out of the rack as aggressively as I know to do, and as a result I started the lift rounded over. I went down anyway, but couldn't make it back up. It was a little frustrating--the kind that makes you really want to try it again (just give me one more chance!!!), but I was pleased with 290.
I opened up with 145 on the bench and it was a breeze. I went up to 165 on my second attempt, but flared my elbows out way too far way too soon and got stuck half way up. I fought with it for a minute, but it got the best of me. Once again, I knew that I could make this lift. The pressure was on since I only had one more chance. Brett and Barry each gave me a pointer to help me make it on my third attempt. I tried it again and made it easy! I got my placement, elbows and speed all right, all at the same time for once!!!
I opened on the DL with 225 and got that one easy. I went up to 240 on my second attempt and got that one pretty easy too. I have lifted both those amounts in the gym. On my third attempt, I lifted 260, which was an all around PR for me. I haven't even lifted that in the gym! So I ended the day on a high note, which always feels great.
Summary Squat/PR 290 Bench/PR 165 Dead/PR 260 Total 715

Congratulations on a successful day. Your training paid off and you were able to perform under pressure. Getting an all around PR in a meet is impressive.
