4-30 ME Bench After last week's ME fiasco I really needed a good showing. This shall suffice. Warm-Up Floor Presses, Raw Max 3 (De-Load and to save the shirt) Bar x 5 115 x 5 135 x 3 155 x 3 175 x 3 Ugly, but there At this point Trav was ready to cut me off, but I pointed out that 185 x 3 was my PR. Shows how good my memory is...it was 180 x 3 on April 5th. So he loaded the bar, and... 190 x 3, Good Lifts, PR by 10 pounds Back-Off Set 145 x 12 Flat DB Presses 65 x 12 x 1 Rope Pressdowns 90 x 10 x 4 Low Cable Rows Pronated Grip 200 x 10 x 2 Supinated Grip 200 x 10 x 1 250 x 10 x 2

OMG! I never considered that! I should go back and add a warning statement to that post. **DON'T WATCH THE AFORE MENTIONED VIDEO BEFORE OPERATING HEAVY EQUIPMENT OR MAX EFFORT DAY!!** Could work to your advantage on speed day though...the thought of running, quickly, in the other direction!!

Alright, already. I'll never do it again, I promise!! 5-7 Bench, De-Load (again) Nothing exciting, benched raw up to 175x1, comp set up, paused everything. Nautilus Isolateral Rows Incline DB Rows DB Clean & Press Ab Pulldowns ****************************** On March 19, I tore a muscle in my hip while squatting. Nothing detached, but I had an ugly line of bruising that followed the path of the sartorius on my left side, from the inside of the knee, across the thigh, to the hip, where it broke through the fascia and bulged. Ugly and painful, but we treated it the best we knew how and pressed on, and it began to heal. During the week of April 23, it became inflamed again. The 27th was the night I squatted 405 and pulled 480. By the next morning it was obvious that I had seriously re-injured the area. Only this time the bruising ran horizontally from below the abs to the glute. We now know that the injury is a hernia of the tensor fascia latae. I am being treated daily by Dr. Larry Gray, and, as you can see from my training logs, almost all lower body training has been curtailed. I am still in the meet, as I really need a total at 198 for the Seniors. Yes, I could go 181 with my raw total from Clayton, but it would be tough. Travis and Dr. Gray have conferred and the plan is to try to get the job done with one squat. My bench and deadlift aren't affected. It's just that where the injury is affects my range of motion on the squat, not to mention the fact that this thing will not be healed by Saturday, and the possibility of further damage is quite real. I am disappointed, of course, because I had a good chance to total Elite at this meet. But, as Trav keeps reminding me, we have to look at the bigger picture. So, no big show from me. But that's cool, because you guys are some of the best lifters in the nation, so Mocksville will see some tremendous displays of power. I wish you all a safe and spectacular meet. See you Saturday. OMG, THIS SUUUUCKS!!!!!! The 515 didn't get it. I should know better than to rely on my memory when under the influence of heavy deadlifts!! I needed, get this, 518.1. Ego deflated. Sorry to mislead you guys. One thing that should definitely be part of your meet preparation is WRITE DOWN YOUR GOALS AND NUMBERS. Actually, I did have a number written down when I deadlifted, written in my palm. That was the date 10-8-04. It was a momentous occasion in the PL world. And I was there. Anybody out there know what happened that day?? Anyway, back to the deadlift devastation. We all went to dinner after the meet, and while I was eating food I would never, ever eat and drinking a beer (I don't drink) because I was publicly called out by my coach to do so, it occurred to me that maybe, just maybe, I should double-check that top twenty thing online. Well, sure enough, I have freaking missed it. So, it will have to wait until another day, and hopefully that day will be June 16. I want to thank all of your for your help and support this weekend: Steve Maxson, for your squat videos and help with the equipment; Derek for keeping me company on Friday; and Derek and Chatham for weighing in LaVan, again and again; to whoever gave me a hit of the home-brew nose tork before that last pull; and Mr. Smith, who made me laugh earlier this week when I really wanted to cry. And to all of you who lifted, thanks for giving Mocksville a great show. They LOVED it. 5-12-07 Mocksville Meet SQ: Pass, 415, Pass BP: 205, 225, 245DL: 460, 500, 515 Total: 1155 "Elite" and still... neversatisfied.

i don't care if it was the 21st all time pull cheryl that was one of the most hardcore gutsy pulls i've ever seen for sure. i was more jacked up when you pulled the 515 than i was when i saw bolton pull 971 at the arnold nobody can take that away from you. i was extremely impressed by you today and was proud to say i know you. btw 10-8-04 correct me if i'm wrong but thats the day travis broke coans total record. hell that feat alone was what sparked my interest in powerlifting.
