Damn you know though when its hotter then hell like that, you are in there to go get it. Solid Work Dale also how far are you out from that max reps for BW weight competition. Thanks Mike....my meet is in 7 weeks. I'll lifting in the raw bench division plus body weight for reps. I'm not to conserned what I raw bench I just need to qualify for the worlds, which is the end of October. I'm anxious to see how I'll do in the body weight for reps. I just spoke with Troy Ford he's the president of the WNPF and he told me a guy in the 242 weight class masters 55-59 did 14 reps and broke the state record. He didn't say what the guy weighed but I know I can beat 14 reps. My body weight is down to almost 215. I'm going to see what I can do tomorrow for reps I think I'm good for at least 20. I'll keep ya posted.

Sunday 7-23-06 bwt. 217 lbs. Age 55
Rotator Cuff - 5 lbs. x 10 reps x 4 sets
Bench Press - competition grip Warm ups to... 260 lbs. x 5 reps - paused last rep 275 lbs. x 4 reps - paused last rep 280 lbs. x 3 reps - paused last rep 290 lbs. x 2 reps - paused both reps 220 lbs. x 19 reps (failure)
Dumbbell Bench Press - Palms In 80 lbs. x 12 reps x 3 sets
Face Pulls - Rope 2 sets x 10 reps
Dumbbell Flys 25 lbs. x 10 reps x 2 sets
That's it...good workout today and the start of my meet cycle, I'm 8 weeks out. Getting 19 reps (body weight) gives me some idea on where I'm at with body weight reps. With some good old hard training this number should go up into the 20's. I'm using a false grip now and feeling real comfortable with it.

Thanks bro...I'm actually training for 2 events....raw bench and body weight for reps. So I have got to have good stamina to compete in a meet like this. It's going to be a fun cycle with alot of volume.

The AC in my gym is still not fixed yet and it's really hot in there, actually feels like you're working out in a sauna. It's suppose to be fixed Saturday so hopfully Sunday when I go in it will be nice an cool.
Good news....I finally broke down and bought myself a set of 5/8" chains. Elitefitness was having a special....anything over 20 bucks was free shipping. So I took advantage of this special and bought em. I should get them in about 2-3 weeks, can't wait!

I like the chains more than bands it's a different feel. I'm gonna try doing some close grip floor presses with the chains that should really get my tris in top shape.
