my 5 year old girl was ran over yesterday by a golf cart and was taken to Brenners Childerns hospital. she got out of surgery this morning at 2:30 where she had her butt repaired. she had a tear at her rectum with lots of bruising but nothing internal there just some plastic surgery. she also has a broken collar bone which is the most minor of the rest. also a tear in her liver which is a major concern right now (they are monitoring this in case it get larger which would require immediate surgery) and some minor kidney damage. she is in the icu at brenners and will remain there for a few days and if nothing changes with her liver she will be moved to a regular room in a couple of days. things are looking good compared to yesterday at 1:30 but we still have a way to go. just keep us in your thoughts and if you pray say one for us. it's tough watching your little princess that is always singing and dancing laying in a bed with a neck brace and wires everywhere, it will bring the biggest of men to there knees.

Re: please keep us in your thoughts and prayers « Reply #5 on Today at 10:45pm »
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- thanks to each of you. just got home and trying to get ready for work. juliana has been out of it most of the day. they've got her on morphine (can't spell right now) so she doesn't move much. when she is awake she is in good spirits and will talk. she doesn't complain much but she never has. when she does complain it is pretty rough. her collarbone makes it tough to get comfortable and the internal bruising she has makes it pretty bad. she has been running about a 103 temp all day which isn't good but it was trying to come down when i left. the docs say the liver is looking better and will just take time to heal, and should as long as she doesn't jar it or move much. her kidney is the main concern now. she has done quite a bit of damage to it so we will be in brenners icu for a couple more days and then to a regular room. we are going to be there at least a week they say. julie is worn out so just remember her. i'm use to feeling give out all the time so a little more shouldn't kill me. again thank you all and i will give a little more info. tomorrow.

thank you all so very much. the phone calls and visits have been wonderful as well as the posts on the boards. we truly have a great powerlifting family. barry w. and his family came by today and showed support and that means a lot b/c we've not known each other that long and for them to stop by is a great testimony to his character. joey, julie said it helped talking with you tonight. barry and i were talking today about powerlifting and how silly it really is. he said i spent thousands of dollars and broke my arm for a trophy. i told him its not the lifting that brings me back each week but the people you meet and have the honor of calling friends. i'm not trying to single anyone out on here but these are just a few of the things that have stuck out in my mind today. each of the posts and phone calls are equally important to us and are valued greatly. thanks kara and ryan and scott. (joey thought it was awesome that you guys posted on his board) as far as juliana goes, great improvement today. we had another scare this morning when the docs came in and said her bowels are either asleep or damaged as well and would require more surgery. that is something you don't like to hear. long story short, we've all got a stomach virus now and while she was throwing up this evening she shit in the bed so her bowels are awake now. thank god. just continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers b/c i know julie is tired and i have ate about 4 meals since sat. lunch. too much stress.

cooke this is one instance where i'm delighted to hear juliana shit in the bed sheets are a lot easier to replace than bowels. i hope she is continuing to improve rapidly and all of your stomach viruses are going away. scott keeps texting and emailing to see how juliana is doing. you are absolutely right about powerlifting familiy and friends. we're not that far away down here in GA so if any of us can do anything, just let us know. thanks for the updates. we'll all be praying and thinking about juliana and your family.
