Lynn, Congrats on your lifting yesterday bro. It was great seeing everyone. It was a very well run meet by Kyle and Jon. The meet keeps getting bigger and better each year. Congrats to Tim Higgins whom it was great to see again, Derek Wilcox on getting his elite, Sharon on PR' ing on all her lifts, Brian on getting a PR on his bench, and my boy Rodney on showing his personverance with a two time broke finger to get his third att and PR bench. It was also great seeing Brian, Adam and Clint up from Fla hitting big numbers as well. I look forward to seeing everyone again soon. As I hear from Chris Mason ECBB will be making a return soon. That will be awsome....

I couldnt figure out what was wrong with his finger. I thought his hands were cramping. Was impressive to come back and get that on his 3rd attempt. Was a very well ran meet with some impressive lifts. I also thought that it was judged well also. Seemed consistant

I had such a fantastic time at the Clayton meet! There were so many great lifters there, so I enjoyed watching whenever I wasn't lifting. It was so great to see everyone helping each other out and cheering each other on.
I had a great day. I made all nine lifts and hit PR's in each ift too! It was a great reward for all of the hard work!
I know that I've said this before, but I feel like I can't say it enough....I could not have done it without Greg. He has literally taught me everything that I know about this sport. As a matter of fact, I had never even heard of powerlifting until I met him. He puts so much thought into my training and really watches how I respond to every aspect so that he can make any changes that are necessary. He motivates me, encourages me, and pushes me to work harder and lift more (although sometimes he gets a little carried away and "pushes" me a little too hard on the back! ). I may have lifted the weight on Saturday, but it was his talent behind it.
Thank you Greg. I love you.
I can't leave out everyone else that helped out on Saturday. Thank you to Mark and Will for coming down to support and help me. It really meant a lot that you spent your weekend up there helping out. Thanks to Angie, Hillary, Charlotte, and Wendy. I loved looking out in the crowd and seeing you guys out there cheering. It was great spending time with you guys and getting to know you even better. You're the best! I have to give a big thanks to Brett, who helped me put on my bench belly! I have never eaten a meal so incredible! I can't wait for "wrapaho" it is certain to be a success!! Thanks to Lynn, Robbie, and Brian who took the time to cheer me on even though they were lifting too. Great job to all of you! I can't leave out Joey and Rodney. It's always great to have you guys around. Rodney, I am genuinely impressed with the amount of heart you have! I can't believe that you got on that bench dispite your broken finger. Contrats on the good lift! You certainlyl deserved it! Thanks to Derek for the support you showed and a huge contratulations to you for getting Elite! Thank you to everyone who was there for coming out to support all of the lifters and have a great time!
Okay, now for the numbers....
Squat 286 (I think) 325 352
BP 159 175--what a grind! I felt like I was fighting with this shit for 10 minutes. All I kept thinking was "I'm gonna keep pushing this shit until they rip it away from me." I got pissed at the thought of the spotters taking it and finished the lift. 187
DL--This was my first meet pulling sumo. I started learning last May or June. My goal was to match my best conventional pull, which was 280, so getting 292 was a great PR! 240 275 292

Lynn, you did great bro, once you got your head on straight you were set. Next time we'll get it fixed sooner and hit 600! It was just a great meet, smoothly run, just the right amount of lifters and great performances from everyone. Rodney, what heart dude...to come back from a dump then getting your finger broke and get the lift too was amazing! I'd like to thank Mark & Will for coming up to help out our team mates, you guy's are great and such an asset to our group. Joey, it was great hang'n out with you again and anyone that paid attention seen what a great guy you are, you lifted off to damn near evryone! I'd like to congratulate my team mate Robbie Bagley on a great day. He PR'd in the squat with his opener of 551 & 2nd attempt of 584. His bench didn't quite go as planned, he benched the weight of 363 but was called for his butt. He also when on to PR in the dead-lift as well with an easy 507. This is a testament to his work ethic as he can only train with us 1 time a week, I'm very proud of him as he consistently improves every meet he does. My Sharon...what can I say but absolutely amazing! She had the perfect meet. The weight she had to cut came off perfectly as planned and she re hydrated the best she ever has, weighing in @148 on the button and weighing 158 the day of...she had her bloat on which was very cute! She has trained very hard leading up to the meet and we are getting better at learning what works for Sharon verses what I do for me. Her squat cycle was brand new and worked fantastically. Our first goal was 325 but as her training indicated she had a shot at 350 if everything was perfect from a technique stand point. Well she did it, opening with an easy 286, then on to goal #1 of 325...good lift and then we had decided if she hit her second attempt we were going for 350. So the closest choice we had was 352.7 so thats what she did, GOOD LIFT!! My punkin just hit a 50lb squat PR. Her bench training when just as good as we found out that she needs to be in her shirt every week leading up to a meet. We did lots of 2 board & 1 board work then started touching about 3-4 weeks out. She opened with a meet PR of 159 and smoked it! Then on to 176 and boy was this a grinder but Sharon doesn't have quit in her vocabulary and was able to finish it, another PR. Not knowing if she had any gas left from her second attempt we went with 187 just to see and I be damned if she didn't get that too! She's at 5 PR's already and we still got pulls left. She opened on the dead with an easy 242, then we went on to 270 which she pulled easier than her 1st attempt. On her third we were both on the fence on what to choose. This was her first time pulling sumo at a meet and she really wanted to at least tie her conventional PR of 280, but the 270 was so easy we decided to go 292 and she got it...PR again! She went 9 for 9, Pr's in all lifts and total which was a 92lb increase from her previous best. I can't express how proud I am of her and all my training partners and friends. Sharon and I both want to thank Brett & Hillary Rapp for the hospitality they showed us. They let us stay with them this weekend, feed us a fantastic meal...Brett is quite the cook, can't wait till "Rapp-a-hoo's" opens up! Joey, Rodney & Wendy stayed with them also and the dinner Friday night was great, all the talking with all of us Brian, Charlotte, Phillip and his wife. It was just great getting together with everyone, we're very blessed to have such great friends.

Well I screwed up big time! I just knew that the state record for the 148's was 350 and I was so confident that I didn't see the need in double checking myself and it ended up bitting me in the ass. It's acctually 374, so Sharon didn't break the record but we are very close and now have something to shoot for next time. I'm still every bit as proud of her record or not, she lifted her best and thats what I'm proud of NOT the numbers

I was kinda in a rush this morning with my first post and forgot to mention how good it was to see Derek hit the elite total that he's been chasing. Great job D, everything went just as you planned it, now you can gain some weight and get elite in the 181's now! You are a great lifter thats only begining to touch on what your capable of and I can't wait to see what becomes of you. Thanks also for keeping Sharon company while I was moving crap on Friday.
