Dynamic Day Alternatives
Getting bored with your same old speed day? Quite frankly I did and didn't want to do it anymore. So I thought I'd throw out a few things I started doing instead. Basically all I do is M/E exercises for reps...6's, 8's, and 10's. I keep my volume in check by a couple different ways. I do the exercises raw, use a lower box, etc. but most of all the reps usually keep me from going so heavy that my CNS is affected for the up coming M/E day. Here are a few of my favorites and I'm sorry but I don't have time to list every variation for each exercise but use your imagination and you can add many twist to each of these.
Open squats...deep Box squats Zercher squats Good Morning¡¦s Conventional Dead-lifts Sumo Dead-lifts
As I said you can create 3-5 different variations of each of these so getting bored with this will take a while. You could also alternate one of these days and the next week traditional speed work. The key is to keep your training fun and you'll work a lot harder at it!
