I'm Greg Crook the current APF 181lb senior national champion. My best squats in competion to date are a 722 @ 181 (this was done at seniors) and a 775 @ 198 (weighing in at 183). I'm very excited about this forum, i love seeing people improve and anything i can do to help that i'm more than happy too.Me and my trusty training partner from the start Chris Spayd taught ourselves to squat the right way.I made all the calls to Louie and read all the articles, videos etc. and Chris was willing to try what ever i come to the gym with. Not only did my squat improve so did his. When we started he was squatting around 225. His last comp. squat was a 550 and did 625 but got called on depth, he weighs 180lbs dressed!.Now the rest of the team torture crew are all good squatters, we have 3-700 plus squatters, 1-600 and 1-500 plus and our heaviest competiter is in the 220lb class. I'm very proud of that not to mention the lovely ladies we have also! I'll be the first to admit i don't know it all and don't claim to, i'm still learning as well but i've experenced alot with the squat and am looking forward to passing on what i've learned good and bad and hopefully it will help someone out. What i'll do is start with the box squatting and move on to chains, bands etc. In the mean time if you have any questions please post them and if i can't answer them myself i'll get the answer for you.I have Louie on speed dial!!

I am really excited about this new forum too! I have always hated squats but am beginning to realize that I am starting to like them. I am really looking forward to learning about them! Thanks Greg for agreeing to take this on!

I just wanted to let everyone know that Greg will be an awesome attribute to this forum and the "NC POWERLIFTING TEAM". Greg is very serious about our sport and takes Coaching our team very serious down at "The Barn". Greg is also not some super gear fly by night guy that just put some gear on and did some impressive weights, he has put years of the basics and trial and error in the trenches. He is great at individually planning out a solid routine that will fit anyones special needs or weaknesses. He also is a great friend that will help anybody at anytime!!!!!!!!!

Greg Crook deserves as much or more credit than anyone I know. He went to Vegas, lifted smart, and came home with the only first place trophy in the bunch. A class act regardless of where he's at. He may also be the tannest, handsomest man you'll ever meet.
