gopostal...the notld pics well they are postal!! still havent seen the outcome of the event...looks like close to 600 were latched onto though..ok..I am slowly getting sucked into this whole pl thing..and now I wanna know what kinda difference the suit is making in your lifts...well that question goes out to any body really..and is it a requirement in competition or just an advantage?

gopostal...the notld pics well they are postal!! still havent seen the outcome of the event...looks like close to 600 were latched onto though..ok..I am slowly getting sucked into this whole pl thing..and now I wanna know what kinda difference the suit is making in your lifts...well that question goes out to any body really..and is it a requirement in competition or just an advantage? thanks man, when the official results are posted i'll post'em. since your asking in the deadlift forum i'll answer on the deadlift portion. equipment is optional but more and more people are beginning to pull in suits now after primarily pulling raw in the past. if you pull sumo then a normal squat suit will give you pop out of the bottom of the lift. on the other hand if you pull conventional a deadlift suit like the metal deadlifter or the inzer max dl or the new fusion deadlift suit would give you more support. the most i have ever heard of anyone getting out of equipment is a little over 125 pounds and this was a lifter using a canvas suit erector shirt and double ply briefs. it was a miracle he got to the bar at all and for that fact alone he has my respect. most people pulling sumo can get anywhere from 25-75 pounds in a well fitting suit. it takes practice with a real tight suit and it will hurt like piss. the suits i've had the most success with have been the titan centurion and the metal v-type squatter. breaker can give you more on the conventional side than i can. hope this helps. if you want to know about squat and bench equipment you can go to the squat and bench forums so greg and chris can help you out. they know a lot more in that area than me for sure.

My suit does not give me that much of an advantage in the Deadlift. It does keep my hips from hurting.

All depends on what style you pull with; I get a pretty nice rebound from my Metal Pro Deadlifter. It really saves me off the floor and saves my back for that higher poundage.

hmm hips hurting,,,well that alone answers several questions...and adds a few for me.. on one hand I never even thought about how im pulling..the first few times I started to use the deadlift in my workouts my hips hurt like hell!! was I pulling sumo (maybe I think becouse I had been doing bent over bb rows the exercise before) the last few times was I using conventional? (no hip pain and noticably sore core).. note to self pay more attention to wtf im doing...but dont get distracted... thanks for the input
