Hi Hannah! Thanks for doing this it is awesome info! Ive learned so much I didn;t know already. I do have a question about carbs. I am hypoglycemic, and have always been a carb addict about 600 grams of carbs per day at my highest. Italian food is my favorite, cakes cookies candies and breads were a regular staple of my diet. It didnt matter how much I cut calories, how much cardio I did and watched my fat intake I kept gaining weight. I started cutting my carbs way back, cut out refined sugars, and starch food. I lost quite a bit of weight of course and have stopped having problems with my sugar dropping when lifting, after reading your article I am wondering how much of it was muscle. So my question is...(drum roll please) Can you explain about bad carbs and good carbs and does being hypo glycemic have any impact on my carb intake? Thanks Hannah !!!!!!

no problem! here is the part of the article that specifically answers your question: "Simple carbs - unlike complex carbs - effect an opposing change in hyper / hypoglycemics, resulting in a higher sodium / potassium ratio with hyperglycemics, and a higher potassium / sodium ratio with hypoglycemics, which can subsequently lead to an increase in blood pressure with the former, and a decrease in blood pressure with the latter." here's the thread on carbs and their differences: joeysmith.proboards105.com/index.cgi?board=hannahjsnutritionrehabing&action=display&thread=1155861043~MINX

Thanks so much Hannah this has helped so much. I am taking several amino acids each day, and I eat alot of lean meats, nuts, eggs and even vegetables. I havent noticed any of the symptoms yet, so this information is great to help me begin adding healthier carbs before I do start experiencing the negative symptoms....Thanks so much!
