This is my biggest problem. My training currently goes as such. When doing board work reguardless of what type of bar, bands, chains doesn't matter I start with a 2 board. I do 3's till I can't then move to a 3 board and continue the 3's. Then about 3 days later I'll do rack lockouts or 4 boards. This has helped but I still slow down tremendously at the top. I was thinking of moving all my boards up one. Start with a 3 board then move to a 4 board. What do you think?

what type shirt do you use? also do you do shirted board presses? you may want to throw in some floor presses and some reverse band presses. these really help. i don't know about the time frame between your boards and lockouts. sounds like a lot of heavy pressing in 72 hours.

yes i would move up on my boards. also do something we call crazy bands. set up in a rack and put like 135 on the bar and then start adding mini bands (no weight) until you can't press anymore. we do this with boards, shirted and raw for triples and singles. double the mini bands around the bottom of the rack and see how you get fried. be ready for some serious instability. this is like off season every third or fourth week.

Thanks for the help Cooke! Your right that is a lot of heavy pressing in 72hrs. All of my M/E work is done raw and that allows me to recover fairly fast (low bar weight), maybe thats why I've gotten away with it so far. I use a Metal shirt also. I think from now till I hit my opener again I'm not going to use straight weight again. I will have bands, chains, both etc on the bar so it's loading up like hell at the top!
