I would like to first tell Captain Will and his wonderful wife they put on a great meet Saturday. It is a shame they do not get the backing and interest they should from their on SC APF lifters. These wonderful people pour their hearts and soul into these meets and are very concerned with the lifters safety and interest. I am happy to know and respect these great human beings. Now enough mushy stuff ;D....I want to commend our prov en fellowship and backing for our NC lifters....we had a absolutely remarkable turnout from our NC family....we have prov en once again there is no stronger family than ours. Wifeys, Husbands, brothers, sisters, kids, moms , dads, family members, and friends all out in full force! No one is bigger than the sports it self and no one can do it without a prov en supporting cast. We bring that to every event that we have lifters at. Allot of us have traveled all over the country together competing, supporting and cheering. This is what it is all about. I want to congratulate all the lifters whom competed. I would like to con graduate Chris Clarke for his massive showing yesterday! Big man with big lifting. I was very proud of you brother. You have came a long way and keep progressing. Winning the best lifter of the meet was awesome! Hannah Johnson once again proved she belongs in this sport. She mixes power and beauty like no other in the sport. She exudes a confidence that many can not carry and a work ethic many can and will not achieve. She too won best lifter of the meet female. Brett Rapp was amazing as usual. This Lil man is a load of unbelievable power. When he heals up I feel sorry for the record books. Wade Booth put on a great show and displayed great lifting ability for his first full power meet. Wade and Brett train together and you can see it is helping both of them rise to the top. Team Torture put on a great show of the word TEAM. Together they engineered wins left and right. Everyone of them wa right there for one another cheering and helping. Jonathan and Greg put on a great show, to prove why they are some of the most respected lifters in the game. Sharon did a great Job for her first meet. Her charming smile radiated the glee of hard work coming to a head. I admire each one of you for what you guys and gals bring to our sport. I want to personally congratulate Curtis Rabon on his big 705# bench yesterday. Him and I have had a great rivalry for a couple years and we seem to bring the best out in one another. I give him heel all the time but I hope that when I am his age I can accomplish what he has done in his extremely Long lifting career. I have the utmost respect for Curtis and what he has done. Thanks Curtis for pushing me to train harder for when we meet again brother. And for the biggest bencher of the day Daniel Everhart who is 19 years old and benched a mind boggling 750#'s was amazing. He and Curtis are training partners and together they have tapped into each others deep drive to succeed. Congrats to both of them and thanks for pissing me off and push myself harder! ;D....It was great seeing everyone and spending time with each of you. I am very passionate about this sport and the people who are in it. I hope we can all continue to support one another and build on what we have. MISSION: UNITE NORTH CAROLIA POWERLIFTERS!

Thanks to all for a great day in Rock Hill!!!!!!!! I had a blast hanging out with all my POWERLIFTING FAMILY yesterday. We really showed how NC rules in Powerlifting with a huge support team. This meet was the first one that my family got to come and see and let me tell you after getting that last hard ass deadlift and getting a big hug from your Mom and Dad was special(ok like Joey said enough of the mushy stuff). I hate I didn't get to meet more of the people but when you have a team including yourself and your wife lifting there is not much idle time to chat. I would like to say a BIG thanks to Spaydzilla for handling everybody, Greg and Sharon for helping Sonja when I couldn't, Rick, Robby and Chad you guys did awesome, Grady(Team Torture teammate for those who don't know) who pushed me harder than I had ever been pushed before in a meet, Grady beat me by 5 lbs in the total 1920 to 1915 for the 220 win. The Granite City guys and gals were a huge help to me, Tim, Barry and Ben I owe you one!! Brett thanks for the last minute help on the dead with the hook grip, I had never pulled hook before this meet and I pulled 640 for a PR in a meet. Will and Marge are always great and without there tireless efforts we wouldn't have a place to show what we are about. There are a lot of people I would like to thank but I can't remember or just don't know your name but THANKS TO ALL!!! Most of all thanks to Sonja, just for being your sweet little self!!! Lets not forget the man who makes sure we are the best in powerlifting anywhere Mr. Smith, Joey you do an awesome job!!

WOW what a meet... chris clark had a well-deserved great day! team torture was also out in full effect- congrats to sharon on her first full power meet and that awesome DL PR!! it was so great to have such a strong NC support system... thanks to: *Marge and Will Millman for putting so much effort into making this a great meet *OX ("coach") & Kristy Mason for coaching, motivating and supporting me! i love and appreciate ya'll!! *Matt for driving a total of almost 20 hours in a day to come and support me, and for making me feel strong, feminine and beautiful- i am thankful for you! *Mike White for driving all that way to pull my belt and choke me with ammonia caps (and for propping me up so my squat suit wouldnt cut off my circulation) -also joe, barry and steve for coming down to "support the sport" *Joey Smith and Rodney Coates for screaming in my face and getting inside my head before every lift ("I'm a BOSS!") *The GCBB crew (higgins, b. wood, ben, cooke) and their wives - you ladies are ALWAYS so kind and genuine... *Also a VERY special thx to STUK for the awesome vid footage he shot; you are much appreciated!! *stacy J- it was GREAT to finally put a face with a training log! you rock girl! i hope i havent forgotten anyone; you are all so important to me and i am grateful that NC powerlifting is such a tight family. thanks again and congrats to the lifters! I don't even know where to begin! Yesterday's meet was an incredible experience. I don't think I can thank Will and Marge enough for putting on such an awesome meet. I could not have asked for a more perfectly run meet--especially for my first full power experience!! Thank you both so very much.
I'd like to give a great big thank you to my team mates from the barn--Greg, Jon, Sonja, Rick (another first timer), Grady, and Robbie--TEAM TORTURE!! Congratulations to each one of you for your performance yesterday (even Spayd, who should have won best lift off man!). I am so proud to be a part of this extraordinary group of lifters. Thank you all for your encouragment and help yesterday.
Sonja, Hannah, and Barbara it was an honor lifting with each of you. The heart and drive I see in each of you makes me proud to be one of the females in this sport. Stacey, thank you so much for coming out to watch and offer your support. Next time I want to see you out there too!!
Thank you to everyone who came out to support all of the lifters. It really meant a lot to me to see other lifters come out to cheer us on and make sure we were all taken care of. I appreciate the hell out of Joey for coming out. You helped me feel a little more relaxed. Lord knows I was scared out of my mind!! Barry and Brett, I want to give both of you a big thanks for helping me out with my bench. Your advice helped me get my third lift!! Thank you very much!
I want to give a huge thank you to my coach (and my love--ug! there's some of that mushy stuff) Greg. I had never even heard of powerlifting until I met him. He started coaching me about nine months ago. Sometimes I wonder how he does it. I'm sure I can be one of the most frustrating, infuriating, pull your hair out and stomp your feet trainees anyone could ever train. But he has continued to teach me the proper techniques and push me harder and harder with each workout. When I've let myself get down and frustrated, he pushes me back up and relights that fire under my ass. He taught me everything I know about this sport, and I would not have been able to do any of what I accomplished yesterday if it were not for him. Greg, thank you for being my coach and trainer. I love you so much.
End the mush.
I had such a good time yesterday. Thanks to each one of you for helping make it such a successful day for me and all of the other lifters. I look forward to seeing all of you again soon. Good luck with your training and take care of yourselves.

My turn, not much that I can add that hasn't already been said. Thank you Will and Marge for the great meet. I'm very proud of my team mates, everyone did a fantastic job, huge PR's through out the group. Thats what we trained for. Brett, you made it worth every penny I spent on entry fees with the tip you actually give Sharon that I used, it was the sole reason I finished the 505, thank you! Joey & Rodney thanks for the shirt set up, let me get my top end right and we'll try it again. Big thanks to the Granite City Crew for helping not only me but the rest of our team, we were alittle short handed but you guys fixed that. I'd also like to say just how proud I am of my girl Sharon, when I pushed her under the bar for her first squat she was shaking like a leaf bless her heart, but she got rid of her nerves and had a great meet, you made me proud "punkin"! It was great to meet everyone from the board that I did, Steve, Stacey & Mark you are all as great as I thought you would be, sorry we couldn't talk any longer than we did. My boy Joey Smith, what can I say, your had work on bringing NC lifters together as a family really showed their true colors. I told Jonathan I didn't feel like I was at a meet but more like one great big training session. Everyone was so supportive of each other, I loved it. A comfortable atmosphere like that is where big numbers are done, just as we seen! Thanks again everyone see you at the next one.

I must say I had a good time at the Rock Hill meet. Those people down there are very wonderful. I was glad to have a chance to meet some of you and put names and faces together. Mr Joey Smith I can not thank you enough you really helped me put it all together. Tadpole, what can I say man in a month and a half power training you have helped me come a long way!! You are still the best lifter I know. I had a good time hanging out with Chris Clark and his family. By the way Chris you need a hug? Anyway, back to the gym.

It has been great reading these responses!....this is truly what this is all about....it is an addictive attitude we are bringing here in North Carolina.... A new slogan I have thought up and plan on making some shirts for everyone to wear....Tell me what you think.... "Powered by the presence of plenty, admired and revered by the masses of many....North Carolina Powerlifting" I am extremely happy and lucky to be associated with so many great folks....I feel honored to know each of you....to me each and everyones achievement are all of our achievements....together we motivate, encourage, and drive each other to do better and better....no one does this on their own and no one can achieve their goals and dreams on their own....it was fantastic to see the camaraderie and family atmosphere at this meet....I look forward to watching and competing and working out with each of you....each of you motivates me....thanks again for such a great power lifting Juggernaut we are creating here in the great state of North Carolina.... Also thanks to Stuk for all the work you do on the vids brother and being there supporting everyone....for you to drive as far as you did to support the meet and to video everything says alot about you brother....I can not thank you enough.... Thanks to Steve Maxon for coming out and contributing like you are bro....I look forward to seeing you compete.... Thanks to Stacey and Mark for coming out and seeing what this is all about....I hope you guys enjoyed it.... Thanks to the wives who come and support their husbands and friends....Clarke you are a lucky man my friend!, Donna is a wonderful woman....Mrs Mason, Mrs Cooke, Mrs Higgins, Mrs Williams, Mrs Smith, and Mrs Wood you ladies should be commended more than yall are....you ladies have to put up with alot of shit!....with out yall we could not make it.... Finally it was great to see Lil Julianna running around looking beautiful like nothing happened to her....she has a strong drive in her and she has a wonderful family caring and raising her....I am so happy to see she has returned to 100%....
