You ever been to a meet and know you can't win? At this years Sr.'s in Vegas I had this problem thanks to Jason Coker. Jason is one of the 3 people I can name that has handed me my ass. But I have to say it was a great experience to watch him go out from the curtain and crush the 198lb bench record.
Heres's some of the answers Jason gave me today during a phone interview.
1) What's next on your meet schedule?
"The Europa Super Show in Texas" (Cash Prizes)
2) Why do your boys in TX call you "The Prince of Darkness"?
"Probably the music or the nasty ass tattoos. I get pretty crazy during training and meets"
3) What type of training do you follow?
"The guys @ BAG go West Side. I do my own thing. Max effort every week. No set schedule."
4) Who influenced you to get in the sport?
"Travis, we trained together back in Colorado Springs"
5) You doin' the Arnold next year?
"Yea,I plan on shooting for a 750 bench and a 225 total"
6) Have you picked up any sponsors since the record lift?
"INZER, so far"
7) What is BAG for any body that hasn't looked in the links?
"Bad Attitude Gym. It's kind of a storage unit with a bathroom. I guess it's a warehouse"
8) Are you married and what do you do for a living?
"Not married, I have a girlfriend of 8 years named Kristine. I move furniture for a living. We do have a dog instead of a kid; TJ a shiatsu"
9) Who's the best bencher today, and don't try to be politically correct and not mention yourself?
" I don't think I'm near the best. Probably Kennelly."
10) What kind of music do you get down to in the gym?
" Metal; some Hate Breed, God smack, Cannibal Corpse, Cradle of Filth"
Now would be the right time to wish Jason luck in the future I ques. But I don't think luck has much to do with his lifts! Some lifters just have a wild look in their eyes that tells you their the real thing. Trust me on this one, THIS CRAZY FUCKER IS REAL !
