After watching Chip Stewart set a new world today I asked myself "Is he the best in the state"? We have some of the best benchers in the nation here in NC. Some names come to mind immediately; Cook, Chip ,Travis, and the list goes on. But who do you enjoy watching the most? I'm not trying to have a popularity contest here, just trying to see who impresses people the most.

I think we are lucky to have probably have three or four or five or even six top benchers in their respective weight classes here in NC that are national top 5 lifters:
Barry Williams 198# class
Chris Cooke Super Heavy class
Chip Stewart 242# class
Kyle Robertson 242# class & 220# class
Mike Belk 275# class RAW
Mike Neal Super Heavy class RAW

Barry tough question...being a lighter lifter we don't always get the credit thats deserved but when people look at the pound for pound part of it then the lighter guys will shine. That being said anyone that can take 7,8,900 pounds down to there chest and press it up has all the respect in the world from me reguadless of what they weigh, that shits heavy!!

Well now after posting the hall of fame lifts list....there is only one....Chris Cooke....hands down, he is the only name on that list from NC that has made the Hall Of Fame list, but they will soon add Chip Stewart to that list as the lightest man ever to hit over 800#'s....Congrats to both lifters....Wow we have some badass benchpressers here in NC!....
