this info comes from sandi mccasslin of iron asylum gym. bench shirt alterations Okay. We will start with the sleeves. Pull the material up to tight. Put a line on each side so you know where to stitch. Stitch right up those lines, leave it out, kinda like a fin on your sleeve. We have tried to put them inside, and it just tears the arms up. I have taken mine in and out so many times, it's pathetic. Just remember to backstitch, and remember to use UPHOLSTERY THREAD...this can be purchased at Walmart. Here are some pics... The first 2 pics are taken near the shoulder, and the third is taken at the cuff. I didn't even take mine all the way to the end, because the end of the sleeve was fine. If you need better pics or a better explanation, let me know. Now for the chest plate. Real easy. Just grab the material and stitch it down like you did the sleeve (remember to backstitch) fold it over to the side, and then stitch again. You have a lot of pressure here, so make sure you stitch plenty. Don't worry about the collar.
