Hello everybody, I am new to the board and thought I would post a little info about myself. My name is Marty Queen. I am the sports editor at the mcdowell news in marion. I'm 38 and have worked here for almost 14 years. I have been married to a great lady for 14 years and have a 22-year-old stepson (who could really be something in the gym if he wasn't so lazy, lol). I have been lifting weights on and off for the last 22 years, but I had always just followed the old BB formulas from the 80s. But after writing a couple of stories about Joey and seeing him, Rodney and Breaker tear ass at the YMCA, I decided I wanted to BE strong instead of looking strong. I love it so far. I don't know if I'll ever be able to do much weight on deads and squats because I've had so many leg injuries (2 knee surgeries, ACL repair on left knee, rebuilt right ankle). For that reason I am focusing on bench and other upper body stuff and trying to do some cardio.
Like Joey said in the workout log thread, I love to fish, mostly for bass and trout. Just got back from a trip to cherokee two weeks ago, my bro-in-law and I brought home 118 trout from 3 days of fishing. My best trout was a 22-inch brookie that weighed about 5 1/2 pounds, best largemouth was a 10 I caught back in 1995. I hope to put some respectable weight room numbers on here someday. (joey wanted me to post some fish pix. i will do that soon).
Anyway, nice to be here. I'm amazed at the amount of knowledge everybody is willing to share. Thanks to all.
